Full Question
“OK I get it that you guys are angry. I don’t blame you. It looks like you have been screwed by every system the government has. I’m angry just reading it. But what would you do different? I get that you’re fighting against this but what would you do differently if you were in charge? Do you have any suggestions for how to make things better?”
Answer
Fair comment. We have already published a petition chalked full of ideas to improve policing [here], and we are working on another that will give solid ideas to completely reconstruct the children’s aid industry. So we are doing this.
It is our experience that whenever governments make new rules, they are just as poorly thought out as the rules before. They change the name of the legislation, the organizations, and the outcome, but in the end the same cracks exist. Government doesn’t want to change things for the better, they want to have the appearance that they are changing things – when really they are doing very little – but they fool the public into thinking they are doing something. In reality, the government does not want to give up the control they have over people, and they don’t want to lose political support from the people who work in those systems.
The general public needs to be better educated, more aware, so when governments try to pull the wool over their eyes, people can rise up and cry “Bullshit!” Traditional media outlets have really failed to educate people – to give both sides of a story, to deliver balanced news that allows people to decide for themselves. It’s hard to convey factual information about complex situations when you are broadcasting in twenty second soundbites.
The internet, web, and social media platforms have helped raise awareness, people are less and less trusting of their government, the police, the courts, etc. News media agencies like Signal High News Corporation are leading the way in this respect, but people really have to read and research – take the time to understand the depth and complexity of these issues.
The Foundation and this platform exist to support Superdad and the Girls. That is our purpose. We do this by publishing facts and raising awareness; unfortunately, it’s a lot of detail, and the subject matter is really tough to read – it’s even harder to write. Your point was raised with Superdad, who commented: “[the Friend] makes a valid point but we are not the government … we are not trying to influence government policy, win elections … form committees, write papers and all that … we are in it to expose corruption, tyranny, cracks in the system – to hold people accountable, to force them to make things right.”
